A message from the Principal
I am thrilled to serve as the Executive Principal of Red Cliffs Secondary College, and I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. Our school has a strong reputation for providing a safe and secure environment, fostering high academic expectations, and nurturing positive relationships with our students.
At Red Cliffs, we understand the significance of creating a learning environment that empowers our students to thrive academically and personally. We believe in equipping our students with the necessary skills to become productive and happy citizens in our ever evolving and changing society.
As the only Victorian government 7 to 12 school in the Sunraysia area, we take great pride in offering a comprehensive curriculum that caters to the needs and interests of our students within our community. We strive to provide a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.
Our dedicated team of educators are committed to supporting and guiding your child through their final years of schooling. We prioritise building strong positive relationships with our students, understanding that this is essential to their success. We believe that when students feel valued and supported, they are more likely to reach their full potential.
We also have high academic expectations for our students, and we encourage them to challenge themselves and strive for excellence. We provide a range of academic and co-curricular opportunities to suit diverse interests and aspirations. Our dedicated teaching staff is always available to provide guidance and support to help your child achieve their goals.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our team. We value your partnership and believe that open communication between the school and parents/guardians is crucial to your child’s success.
We are excited to welcome your child to Red Cliffs Secondary College and look forward to working together to create a positive and enriching educational experience. Together, we can empower your child to reach new heights and prepare them for a bright future.

Year 9 Active Lifestyles – Lawn Bowls Excursion
As part of Mr. Anders’ Year 9 Active Lifestyles elective, students have been learning and participating in a range of sports they can enjoy for life.
To finish off Term 1, students visited the Red Cliffs Lawn Bowls Club, where they developed their skills, techniques, and understanding of the rules of lawn bowls.
To celebrate the end of the term and show appreciation for the volunteers, students also brought along a shared morning tea, highlighting the important social benefits of sport.
A big thank you to Michael Clifford and the volunteers at Red Cliffs Bowling Club for their time and support!

Our FLO Science students recently dove into some hands-on learning with a closer look at an invasive species – the carp! They explored fish anatomy, discovered why carp were introduced to our waterways, and discussed their impact on the river environment.
While some students were put off by the smell, others eagerly got stuck in, examining eyeballs and swim bladders up close! Great work team!

On Friday 4th April, 34 enthusiastic RCSC students took part in the House Cross Country on a stunning Autumn morning. A huge congratulations to all participants for their fantastic effort and positive attitude throughout the event!

Congrats to Zander Tyack for correctly guessing the number of eggs in the jar – 365! We raised $155 through the competition – thanks to everyone who supported this fun fundraiser. Check out some of our lucky raffle winners below!
Have a safe and happy holiday – see you in Term 2!

Students in the Year 12 Environmental Science subject have been learning about biodiversity in our region. To expand on this, students visited Butler’s creek. They were able to learn about the ways our local river health is assessed and what programs Ozfish have implemented to support our native fish stocks.

VET Lab Skills were lucky enough to have the opportunity to take a guided tour through the ALTSA labs at Merbein South on Friday 28 March. We toured organic, inorganic and microbiological labs and learned that ALTSA provide a wide range of testing services including soils, plant health, pollen viability, water quality, heavy metals, moulds and bacteria. We were able to see things discussed in our recent units such as WHS, environmental sustainability and information management happening in practice. The General Manager Ray Harris was very generous with his time, spending 2 hours with us talking about all aspects of working in science.
